History and Description

A Topographical Dictionary of Ireland (Lewis, 1837)

Donal II, the O'Donovan chieftain, visited O'Neill's recruitment camp in this parish towards the end of the Nine Years War (Tyrone Rebellion).

Inishcarra is noted for the Fitzgibbon estate.
