History and Description

A Topographical Dictionary of Ireland (Lewis, 1837)

There was an old parish called Garrynoe (sometimes called Garryvoe) that merged with Desertserges. There are tithe applotment returns for this Garrynoe that contain placenames in Desertserges. Do not confuse this Garrynoe with Garryvoe by Ightermurragh. See Library Ireland.

The townland of Knocknastooka might be at least partly enumerated in the Tithe Applotment book for Kinneigh.

Lyre is a population centre in Knocks.

Coxestown is another name for Lisbehegh.

Willsgrove is another name for Garranlahan.
