Civil Parishes of County Cork

Records by Civil Parish

Land valuation records up to Griffith's Valuation are organized by civil parish, and enumerate to the townland level. (They were actually organized by barony. If a civil parish extended across barony boundaries, the records for that civil parish might have been split on the recording media. Providers of records today might aggregate the split parish records together.)

19th century censuses were also organized by civil parish, but, other than statistical extracts, there is little surviving data from those censuses.

Below is an alphabetical listing of the civil parishes of County Cork. A parish link will direct you to a web page of historical information relevant to family history research.

A recommended reference is A New Genealogical Atlas of Ireland, 2nd Edition, by Brian Mitchell. It divides up Cork into east, middle, and west sections. The popup you see when you fly your mouse over a civil parish below specifies one of these sections.
