History

Orrery & Kilmore is one of the baronies of north Cork, between Duhallow and Fermoy baronies, bordering Limerick.

This territory was occupied by the O'Keeffes, whose holdings once extended into the baronies of Fermoy and of Orrery & Kilmore. King James Irish Army List, p. 839, Art O'Keeffe. The Normans dispossessed them of their lands.
